Hello Everyone! I hope you are well!! I realize my updates have not been nearly as frequent as they were when I was in Brazil, and I'm very sorry about that. I've been doing 2 jobs the past 3 months and it has kept me very, very busy.
I've been working in the Jewish World Office, planning for the upcoming school in April, scheduling, recruiting, and we even had a display booth at a conference in New Jersey recently.
Then I've also been with the DTS (Discipleship Training School), having meetings, spending time with students, more meetings, babysitting, and attending lots of meetings, and we also went to a conference in North Carolina (and since the return their have been way more meetings!!). Along with that, preparing for the trip to India, trying to arrange an itenerary, accomodations, transportation while we're there, people to network with, and yesterday I and our director started planning for the School of Jewish Studies we'll hold in Brazil next August, so things have been very busy around here!
So here's my schedule for roughly the next 3 months:
I leave here tomorrow (hopefully) and drive to Chicago for Christmas with my family. Then January 5th I fly to India, arriving on the 7th (in Delhi). I'll be in Delhi, Varanasi, Goa (for about 2 weeks), Pune, then back to Delhi to return to the U.S. on January 30th. Other than Goa, we'll be in each place 1or 2 days, possibly 3 in Pune.
I fly back to Chicago, re-pack, then fly to So. Cal, where I'll be for the month of February (2/2 through 3/2), with a quick trip to see my brother and his son, then back to Chicago. I need to be in North Carolina for another conference March 6-10, then back in Richmond by the 15th to get ready for the SJS which starts April 10th. Please remember to keep me in prayer during all the travels.
GOD'S AMAZING PROVISION FOR INDIA!
I've known since I was in Brazil that I was supposed to go to India, and would likely go if we had an outreach team going. And as it turned out when I got back, that's where they were headed. Well a few weeks ago we were all convinced we were to go, but we had no money for tickets or anything else. At that point I had not paid rent for November or December due to having no funds. Then on a Monday night we prayed for everyone's finances, and that night I tithed on the little bit that had come in. About 2 days later I got a check, and in less than 2 weeks I had received $1800 AND a Plane Ticket!!! The money also came in for all 10 of the others who are going to buy their tickets, all in less than 2 weeks!!! The team still needs money to cover things like food, housing, transportation, etc., but we are all fully confident that the Lord will provide the rest of the money before they leave on January 10th!!!
So now I'm ready to go, I've had my shots, I've been able to borrow a backpack and a sleeping bag, and I can even pay my back rent before I leave the country!! God is amazing!!!
One last bit of news-
I've mentioned before that the plan is for me to return to Brazil next fall to help staff the School of Jewish Studies there. Well I just learned the other day that Jaime (our director, the leader for that school, and the leader of my recent outreach to Brazil) is planning for the Brazil to have 2 outreach teams, one to Argentina, and the other to Israel, so yes, this time next year I should be in Israel!!! Im pretty excited about that, but for now I am very content to focus on India.
Again, please keep me and the entire team in prayer. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and have a Blessed New Year!!!
Love,
Monica

INDIA
India is less than a month away now! We're hoping to leave around December 27th and to use the time meeting people, building on relationships we already have, and checking out the needs to see how we can minister. Our primary focus will be Goa, India (a beautiful coastal area with lots of tourists), but we're hoping to do some traveling to other areas as well. Please keep me and the rest of the team in prayer for health, safety, finances, and lots of Divine Appointments!
Blessings to you!
